Coming into this course I was expecting to find myself simply reviewing the already somewhat known social media etiquette that I must follow as a young professional. I was expecting to learn all of the tips and tricks to brand myself responsibly as I begin my professional career. However, I have been pleasantly surprised with not only learning these things, but also by discovering a new way to view myself, my creativity, and the opportunities I can create for myself by adjusting my use of the platforms that I already love.
For example, I follow countless bloggers on social media and avidly watch, read, and listen to their every word as if virbal gold was spewing out of their mouths and fingertips. Never did I think that I could find a voice within myself that I would consider worth amplifying to the internet. Although the posts that we are “required” to create are based off of class material I still find my fingertips dancing across my laptop keys trying to find any rhythm to make the words that I’m putting together worth reading. I’ve found that blogging has become an outlet for me to twist information into creativity. Not only does this help me retain what I am trying to learn, but it is allowing me to express myself.

In the future I could definitely see myself creating a personal blog as a way to connect with my followers, friends, and family. When I think of the bloggers that I follow I think about how their voices have impacted me so much that I honestly consider them friends (you can be friends without ever actually meeting or talking right? Right). Well regardless, that is my goal, to brand myself as someone that people want to like. As all of the social media etiquette will help me with this goal, blogging is a tool that I am extremely excited about.
